Hiya bookish people!

Yes, I know this isn’t my normal posting schedule, but I am super duper behind on all my tags at the moment so for the rest of the month, every Wednesday I will be doing two tags. However, I won’t be tagging anyone, just so I don’t overwhelm people with Christmas closing in on us, and I know other bloggers will be getting ready for Blogmas!

Right, let’s get started! Click on the banner to open the tag!

I was tagged by Beck @Smellfoy Can Read to do this tag! I’ve actually done this tag before under a different name, the The Book Blogger Confession Tag

Why did you start blogging & why have you kept blogging?

I found a post-it-note review in a library book that linked back to a website with a list of all the books this girl had put reviews into! Unfortunately the website has since shut down, but I showed it to Bruno in our Science class and we decided to make a blog of our own! And yes I copied and pasted this straight out of my Sunshine Blogger Nomination post.

I have continued blogging because I love being able to interact with this community. You guys are so amazing and supportive! Not only do I love talking to everyone, I have also made so many friendships from the blogging community! Charlotte and Aditi specifically, you guys are the best! And, most of all, I enjoy it.

What is your favourite type of blog post to write?

I really love writing up my answers to tags and writing up discussion posts! Tags because I love being able to interact continuously with you guys, and discussions because it means that I can share some opinions of mine, and hear the others of my fellow bloggers on the same or a different topic! Why don’t you guys tell me what you think of one of my most recent discussion posts about the Most Popular Books on my TBR?

What are your top three favourite blog posts?

What are some of your favourite things to do to relax?

Obviously blogging is one, however it is one of my more “full on” relaxing hobbies. The others are things like watching Netflix obsessively (movies and series, I’m currently watching Reign, and have watched a bunch of movies lately). I obviously love to read a lot, and I adore music, I have three different playlists. One for my more upbeat music; one for my slower music and one for instrumental music. And lastly, and less frequently, I love going for runs. Even though I moan and complain about it alot.

What are three of your favourite things?</p

My kindle, duh, my laptop and my bed. Give me those and I can live anywhere!

What are your proudest blogging moments?

My first subscriber, my first comment and my first tag! They were honestly some of the best moments in my life because it meant people were engaging with me! And they liked my website! And honestly, you guys are still so amazing as you have grown in support and following!

What are your hobbies outside of blogging?

Uuuh, yes? Aren’t they the same as things I do to relax? No? Okay, well, I do like making cubees, and hanging out with people with no plans. Doing nothing is the best.

Describe your personality in three words.

Dedicated, slightly crazy.

What are your top three pet peeves?

I have been waiting for this question, people! Okay, so I, hmmm, yuck!
I hate the sound of someone chewing gum,
I hate people standing behind me,
and I really hate it when people leave doors part way open if they have made the effort to kind of close it!
Like, why?!

What’s something your followers don’t know about you?

I’m a brunette!

I Should Read That Book Tag

Hiya bookish people!

I was tagged by the amazing Virginia @ The Sassy Library Fox! If you guys are reading his far through the post, A) Kudos to you! B) You know I won’t be tagging anyone since this is a lot of tags for one post, but feel free to do this tag if you want! Just link back to me so I can see your answers!

All covers link to the Goodreads pages, my dudes!

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

Only my current read, which is Red, White and Royal Blue. Can I just say, it is adorable thus far, and the hype is deserved!

Synopsis:

SYNOPSIS //
When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius—his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There’s only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.
.
Heads of family, state, and other handlers devise a plan for damage control: staging a truce between the two rivals. What at first begins as a fake, Instragramable friendship grows deeper, and more dangerous, than either Alex or Henry could have imagined. Soon Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret romance with a surprisingly unstuffy Henry that could derail the campaign and upend two nations and begs the question: Can love save the world after all? Where do we find the courage, and the power, to be the people we are meant to be? And how can we learn to let our true colors shine through?

Do you have an autumnal book to transition to the end of the year?

Not really. I read a lot of autumn themed posts and drink a lot of hot chocolates. Does that count?

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

Queen of Nothing by Holly Black. Only five (5) days to go. The countdown is nearing its end. So close, so very, very close.

Synopsis:

SYNOPSIS //
Power is much easier to acquire than it is to hold onto. Jude learned this lesson when she released her control over the wicked king, Cardan, in exchange for immeasurable power.
.
Now as the exiled mortal Queen of Faerie, Jude is powerless and left reeling from Cardan’s betrayal. She bides her time determined to reclaim everything he took from her. Opportunity arrives in the form of her deceptive twin sister, Taryn, whose mortal life is in peril.
.
Jude must risk venturing back into the treacherous Faerie Court, and confront her lingering feelings for Cardan, if she wishes to save her sister. But Elfhame is not as she left it. War is brewing. As Jude slips deep within enemy lines she becomes ensnared in the conflict’s bloody politics.
.
And, when a dormant yet powerful curse is unleashed, panic spreads throughout the land, forcing her to choose between her ambition and her humanity…

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Red, White and Royal Blue, and Sorcery of Thorns, and After. Three books, that’s achievable, isn’t it?

All sorcerers are evil. Elisabeth has known that as long as she has known anything. Raised as a foundling in one of Austermeer’s Great Libraries, Elisabeth has grown up among the tools of sorcery—magical grimoires that whisper on shelves and rattle beneath iron chains. If provoked, they transform into grotesque monsters of ink and leather. She hopes to become a warden, charged with protecting the kingdom from their power.
.
Then an act of sabotage releases the library’s most dangerous grimoire. Elisabeth’s desperate intervention implicates her in the crime, and she is torn from her home to face justice in the capital. With no one to turn to but her sworn enemy, the sorcerer Nathaniel Thorn, and his mysterious demonic servant, she finds herself entangled in a centuries-old conspiracy. Not only could the Great Libraries go up in flames, but the world along with them.
.
As her alliance with Nathaniel grows stronger, Elisabeth starts to question everything she’s been taught—about sorcerers, about the libraries she loves, even about herself. For Elisabeth has a power she has never guessed, and a future she could never have imagined.

SYNOPSIS //
Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She’s got direction, ambition, and a mother who’s intent on keeping her that way.
.
But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos, and lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she’s used to.
.
But he’s also rude—to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does—until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she’s never known before.
.
He’ll call her beautiful, then insist he isn’t the one for her and disappear again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper.
.
Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin’s prejudice about nice girls like her?
.
Unless…could this be love?

Is there a book that you think you could still shock you and become your favourite?

I think that if I read Our Bloody Pearl again, it will still shock me and become a favourite. It is just that good to me. Either that or White Stag, although it would be for different reasons.

Synopsis:

SYNOPSIS //
The ocean is uncontrollable and dangerous. But to the sirens who swim the warm island waters, it’s a home more than worth protecting from the humans and their steam-propelled ships. Between their hypnotic voices and the strength of their powerful tails, sirens have little to fear.
.
That is, until the ruthless pirate captain, Kian, creates a device to cancel out their songs.
.
Perle was the first siren captured, and while all since have either been sold or killed, Kian still keeps them prisoner. Though their song is muted and their tail paralyzed, Perle’s hope for escape rekindles as another pirating vessel seizes Kian’s ship. This new captain seems different, with his brilliant smile and his promises that Kian will never again be Perle’s master. But he’s still a human, and a captor in his own way. The compassion he and his rag-tag human family show can’t be sincere… or can it?
.
Soon it becomes clear that Kian will hunt Perle relentlessly, taking down any siren in her path. As the tides turn, Perle must decide whether to run from Kian forever, or ride the forming wave into battle, hoping their newfound human companions will fight with them.

SYNOPSIS //
As the last child in a family of daughters, seventeen-year-old Janneke was raised to be the male heir. While her sisters were becoming wives and mothers, she was taught to hunt, track, and fight. On the day her village was burned to the ground, Janneke—as the only survivor—was taken captive by the malicious Lydian and eventually sent to work for his nephew Soren.
.
Janneke’s survival in the court of merciless monsters has come at the cost of her connection to the human world. And when the Goblin King’s death ignites an ancient hunt for the next king, Soren senses an opportunity for her to finally fully accept the ways of the brutal Permafrost. But every action he takes to bring her deeper into his world only shows him that a little humanity isn’t bad—especially when it comes to those you care about.
.
Through every battle they survive, Janneke’s loyalty to Soren deepens. After dangerous truths are revealed, Janneke must choose between holding on or letting go of her last connections to a world she no longer belongs to. She must make the right choice to save the only thing keeping both worlds from crumbling.

  1. Ugh i hate people standing behind me too- but mostly if they are too close. I don’t know why people think standing so close in line is somehow going to get them to a counter any quicker.

Ahhhh there are so many books we both want to read ! I hope we can get to them soon!
I really enjoyed Reign, but I do have to say it is horribly historically inaccurate, but the areas of Pagan religion and charms entice me!
